JRMushrooms & Specialties has been a provider of outstanding quality dried mushrooms and specialty gourmet products to fine retailers since 1990. Due to the overwhelming positive responses and comments, the company has decided to make these products available directly to retail customers.

The company was founded by John Rusnak, former owner and operator of Capitol Hill Wine & Cheese, one of the first gourmet food stores in Washington, DC. He was also the creator of the Sutton Place Gourmet concept. Sutton Place Gourmet is now a fifteen-store specialty food chain, based in Bethesda, MD.

With his background as a specialty storeowner, chief marketing officer and food writer with broad travel experience, his knowledge and background in the specialty foods industry have enabled him to be a discriminating judge of outstanding food products. He now shares this knowledge with those interested in purchasing only the finest for use in their kitchen.

During the summer of 2008, JRMushrooms merged with Olivenation (another fine purveyor of gourmet products) so that both companies could better access each other's products. This change allowed John more free time to find outstanding products. The Olivenation team continues to ensure that all orders are shipped out accurately and in the fastest time possible. All orders are now shipped from Charlestown, MA.
